Commonsense is not so common - I heard this from my grandfather. Now realise how true it is.

Life moves at a snail's pace

Been a long time since I last blogged. Life has been moving on at a snail's pace.
The only notable things that happened in the meantime is that I shifted house.
The new place is more akin to a ghetto, but that is no deterrent to making the most of it.

Watched the movie 'Million Dollar Baby' about a week ago. It was good, but it didn't strike me as much as it has appeared to have stuck the Academy. Maybe it was my mood.

Anyways, yesterday I picked up two books from the store. Demons of Chitrakut by Ashok Banker and Gods, Demons and Others by R.K.Laxman. No need to say where my interests are these days. Indian Mythology is back with me in a big way. Want to read as much of it as possible. Ramayana isn't one of my favorite stories, but this guy Banker has a knack for storytelling. I hear he has lived in Bombay all his life, and that's probably the reason why his version of Ramayan is an interesting mix of the Bombay underworld and Star Wars. He has even given names to the roads of Ayodhya, like Raghuvansh Marg and Harishchandra Avenue. It is written in thriller style, which makes it all the better to read.

The other book, is an interesting collection of short Indian myths. It's like being young again, listening to all those stories at my grandfather's knee. A great feeing, if there ever was one. I guess every land has their collection of legends, but I wonder if they could outnumber Indian stories.

A fantastic weekend lies ahead.

Ban the movie 'Sins' ...

I want this movie 'Sins' banned.
I am thinking of taking out a procession tommorow against it.

What's that I hear ? Is it the sound of footsteps of those goddamn priests running towards me, having found a fellow sympathiser ?

Hold on to your cassocks......Wait ! I don't want it banned because it shows a Catholic priest in a bed light or any such dipshit reason. Putting it bluntly, I want to ban this movie so that others like me, whose expectations were unduly raised by the advertisements and posters and all the hype, will not have to come out and spend some more of their hard earned and non-tax free money on disprin.

I mean, I just saw an ad in the Times the other day. Jaago Grahak Jaago. I can take a company to court if it does some false advertising intentionally, can't I ? This is as bad as it gets. I mean, the movie posters advertise something, and what do I get ?
In crass college parlance - One of the biggest KLPDs in some time.

I mean - such horrible people who direct suck movies should be thrown out of the country.
